02/18/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
02/18/16 19:05 Rocky A1065491 and Balboa A1065491 are brothers. They are both 2 year old AMPT. They are being surrendered because the owner is no longer allowed to have both in the home. He recieved them both from a breeder 2 years ago. They have not been to the vet and they have no known health issues. Socialization Rocky and Balboa are brothers and have never been separted or away from each other. They are very friendly and outgoing with strangers. They lived in a home with small children and played well with them. They get very excited when they hear or see other dogs. They play exuberantly with each other and are very vocal when they play. (growl, jump and mouth eachothers faces.) They have not been around cats. They have not bitten anyone or any other animal. Behavior Rocky and Balboa are always walked together 2 or 3 times a day. They love to go to the dog run and play with eachother and other dogs. They enjoy baths and being hosed down in the street. They are well trained and according to the owner, allow to have their food bowl, treats, and toys taken away from them, even by the children in the home. For a new family to know Rocky and Balboa are described as friendly and playful. They may appear big but are cuddlly and affcetionate. The owners favorite thing about them is that they are good listeners and are protective. They slept together in a big crate. They were fed pedigree dry dog food. They pull hard on the leash. They know how to sit, or put it down, stay and stop. Behavior during intake Rocky and Balboa were brought in together by the owner, on two big metal leashes. They sat down when told to do so and waited patiently. When they both heard dogs barking, they both began to vocalize and cry out at the same time. When they became overly excited, they redirected to each other and began to growl and mouth at eachothers faces. I asked if they were fighting and the owner said “No, thats how they play together all the time.” They were leashed one at a time, and cried for eachother. They were scanned(-), collared and transferred into separate kennels by the owner.

02/20/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Rocky pulls hard on the leash. He was excited but very interested in interacting with handler during assessment – jumped up. Rocky was overexcited during handling, jumping up, and was hard to position, but showed no aggression. He did a lot of jumping up, body checking and plays tug-of-war with the leash and was a bit difficult to distract him. He took the toy away but had soft body language. Rocky was surrender to us. 02/19/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
Rocky engages in soft play with females, offering gentle bows and a few bounces, he has not yet been introduced to a male. He may attempt to mount when play ceases (he is currently unaltered). He came from a home with a male litter mate and the owner reports they love to go to the dog run and play with each other and other dogs. At intake it was reported they would get excited and begin to growl and mouth at each others faces, which the owner reports as how they engage in play with each other. The behavior department recommends a pre-adoption interaction before placing Rocky into a home with other dogs. When off leash with other dogs Rocky offers bows and bounces around the helper dog to solicit play. He is gentle and will only solicit when he is reciprocating her. 2/21 update: Rocky initially engages in gentle play with a playful female dog. He postures to mount her when play begins to slow down. 2/23 update: Rocky offers play bows and engages with the other dog. 2/24 update: Rocky attempts to solicit play from the other dog by offering bows but becomes distracted when not reciprocated.
