10/08/16 18:23 Basic Info: Rockie A1092762 is a 2yr old male red & white AMPBT mix who was given to the owner from the previous owner 1yr ago & is being surrendered due to no time. Rockie hasn’t been seen by a veterinarian and currently has no known health issues. Socialization: Around strangers Rockie is very friendly/outgoing. He’s spent time with kids ages 2months-15yrs and was gentle, exuberant, very playful & somewhat rough with them (during play he doesn’t know his strength) also with the adult in the home. Rockie hasn’t lived with other animals and when he spots a dog on the streets he barks excitedly and pulls the owner towards them. Rockie has never bitten/scratched any person or animal. Behavior: Rockie is a very hyper & excited boy he hasn’t been outside for over a month. During storms/fireworks he’ll bark. Rockie isn’t bothered by the following: having his food/food bowl, toys/treats touched/moved, being disturbed while sleeping/resting. Rockie hasn’t been brushed or had his nails trimmed. During baths Rockie attempts to jump out the tub. If someone approaches the home/family member he’ll excitedly bark & jumps on them to greet them & play. For A New Family to Know: Rockie is very friendly, affectionate, very playful, confident, & excitable with a medium-high activity level. The owner likes how friendly he is. Rockie enjoys playing with ball, squeaky, rope toys and games of fetch & tug. He’s mostly an indoor only dog who sleeps on the sofa. Rockie eats dry dog Pedigree food 2x a day and likes any kind of dog treats. Rockie’s known commands are “sit (put it down)”, “stay” & “come” that he doesn’t always listen to. Rockie is house broken but will have accidents in the home if someone takes too long to take him out. He is also well behaved when left home alone. Intake Behavior: Rockie allowed all handling. He was very wiggly and seemed to enjoy hugs and being on your lap. Rockie allowed to be scanned (-), collared & taken pictures of. Rockie was then asked to go into his kennel which he did and began eating some food.
10/11/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: I walk into the room and it’s quiet….and then I hear, thump, thump, thump, thump….following the sound brings me to the front of Toddy’s kennel, where he’s lying quietly except for that tail which seems to have a life of it’s own! Toddy stands up when I stop, comes forward to be leashed and out we go. He goes potty right away confirming his housetraining skills as advised by his former owner. Toddy is a gorgeous dog, his auburn coat gleams, his weight is perfect for his size, and that tail, which never stops wagging, indicates a happy, playful boy. His whole body quivers with excitement at being out, making friends and enjoying the day. Perhaps a model in his previous life, he poses for photos like a pro, then gives me some kisses when we’re done. We’re told that Toddy has spent time with kids from 2 months to 15 years and was gentle, playful and sometimes rough not realizing his own strength. He doesn’t guard his things, isn’t a fan of baths, loves playing with a ball and other toys, knows some commands and is always excited to meet new people. Toddy will need some leash training as he pulls very hard on the leash in his excitement to get from point A to point B, and then point C and beyond. An active home will suit our Toddy well as he has enough energy to power my cell phone for a week – certainly with that ever wagging tail. If you’re looking for an exercise buddy, a motivator to get you going when you’re really not in the mood but know you should….Toddy is hoping you’ll stop by to meet him today.
