Exam Type BEHAVIOR
KNOWN HISTORY: Unknown Intact male, Stray AGGRESSION ASSESSMENT: 9/2/16 Summary: Rock displayed fearful and nervous behavior; he was trembling, uncomfortable and had a tense body posture. Rock would not allow any direct contact from handler or assessor. He kept his distance and would seek exit. Other notes: All items were not conducted due to Rocks tense body posture and his fear of close contact. Rock appears to be afraid of loud noises and quickly reacts by pulling back/away. PLAYGROUP: 8/31/16 When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Rock is nervous as he greets the other dog with a tense face. He is slightly sexually motivated, but is able to listen to a soft correction from the female dog and wanders in the pen. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 8/30/16 Aggression displayed during his initial medical examination RECOMMENDATIONS New Hope Placement _X_No children (under 13) _X_Place with a New Hope partner Potential challenges: X_Fearful/potential for defensive aggression Ex: Fearful; wary of handler/assessor Rock was trembling with his tail tucked, any attempt to engage with Rock may lead to a fearful bite.
08/31/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
Rock was surrendered as a stray so his past behavior around dogs is unknown. When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Rock is nervous and hyper-salivates throughout all play group sessions. He is social with neutered males and female dogs and listens to a correction and walks away when he is corrected for rushing a dog. He is slightly sexually motivated but immediately listens to handler interruptions and explores the pen. The Behavior Department recommends that Rock be placed in a home with dogs that match his calm energy level. 8/31: Rock is nervous as he greets the other dog with a tense face. He is slightly sexually motivated, but is able to listen to a soft correction from the female dog and wanders in the pen. 9/1: Rock is social as he interacts with a neutered male dog. He is more relaxed today, though he hyper-salivates during his playgroup session. 9/7: Rock continues to hyper-salivate during playgroup. He listens to a correction and walks away when he is corrected for rushing a dog. He is slightly sexually motivated but immediately listens to handler interruptions and explores the pen.
