05/30/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: His name might be Rock, but this handsome boy is as soft and mushy as they come! He has a condition which causes his eyes to dart around, and sometimes he seems to get a little disoriented or overwhelmed in this strange place he finds himself, but is very willing to trust the strange people in it! With a lot of baby talking and praise he can usually be coaxed to walk on leash, wiggling his tail with each stretch until he makes it to me. If he lies down on the ground and we’re causing a traffic jam, he’ll even let me pick him up and carry him! He loves treats, takes them softly, and responds to “sit.” The first time I threw a tennis ball for him he took some time to find it, but on each subsequent throw he dove, jump and spun after it like a star athlete! He does super adorable head tilts when I squeak a toy, but gets a little anxious when the tent in the yard starts flapping in the wind. What stands out the most about Rock is how incredibly affectionate and wiggly he is. He’ll put all of the weight of his head in my lap and almost looks like he’s going to fall asleep as I pet him. He leans his body against me, nuzzles into me, and will generously kiss my face. Rock is a very special boy and would love to welcome you home from work everyday– please come meet him at Brooklyn ACC!

Rock was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resource portion of the assessment Rock was easy to handle when engaged with the item.
