A volunteer writes:

We have a shy lioness here at the Manhattan Care Center..Robin. She is gorgeous in her perfect golden coat. I love her stern face, the skin  folds that make her mushy and the incandescent orange eyes that reflect her mysterious soul…Robin is timid and out of place in her kennel. She is so majestic and belongs on a carmine  velvety dog bed , throning on the side of the living room and watching peacefully her family . Picture perfect…Robin accepts easily my leash and off we go at a calm pace around the block.  She minds her business with birds and other dogs although she inquires about her canine neighbors when we are in the yard. She is cautious in playgroups wth her peers but allows them to approach her. Free in a pen, Robin chooses to stay close to me after a short exploration. Her head is quickly in my lap for caresses  which she follows with planting her forelegs on my knees for kisses and hugs. She likes treats, sits for them without me much asking and is all together a gentle and well mannered dog to spend time with. I am looking forward for more time with Robin although I wish that soon enough, someone will fall in love with her and take her home as a loyal forever best friend.

Another volunteer writes:  Upfront and quiet in her kennel, Robin waits so patiently for her walk.  Leashed easily we rush out the door so she can potty, and once business is taken care of we head to the park.  Robin pulls on the leash in her happiness to be out, poses for photos like a pro, and her sweet schmushy face is picture perfect!  She loves to give kisses, loves to be pet, and breaks out into a big smile as we seal our friendship.   Robin is a beauty, hoping to find her place by your side today.

If you are local to the Tri-State, New England, and the general Northeast United States area, and you are SERIOUS about adopting or fostering one of the animals at NYC ACC, please read our MUST READ section for instructions, or email helpdogs@urgentpodr.org. Our experienced volunteers will do their best to guide you through the process.

* We highly discourage everyone from trusting strangers that send them Facebook messages, offering help, for it has ended in truly tragic events.*
