08/25/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Helper-Dog A#1086011 Riska came into the Care Center as a stray, so her past behaviors in a home are unknown. Police Officer Antonelli stated that initially Riska looked very nervous when he approached her, but she allowed him to feed her when he tried to make her a bit more comfortable. Another officer (Officer Antonelli ) went to take Riska green, nylon collar of her neck; when she turned around and bite his left arm. Victim then pulled away his arm and pushed the animal into a carrier. During SAFER Riska was calm and relaxed she had a loose body posture when interacting with the assessor, she allowed handling items to be conducted without issue. Riska was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resource portion of the assessment. Riska was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Riska appears to be sociable, but was a bit tense during the look item, so the department feels she can be suitable for an “Experienced” adopter with a slow approach. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, ears back and he body a bit tense. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is open for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1:1 Dog gently pulls back her paw. Squeeze2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Toy: 1. Minimal interest in toy, dog smells, then turns away.
