1/21/16  S/O:  VET CHECK TO MONITOR RIGHT MANDIBLE. BAR ON PRESENTATION; CONTINUES TO EAT WELL; MM = PINK, MOIST; H/L = WNL; RIGHT SUBMANDIBULAR AREA HAS SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED SWELLING – ABLE TO DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN THE MANDIBULAR SALIVARY GLANDS AND LYMPH NODES – SCAR TISSUE PRESENT FURTHER CAUDAL AND VENTRAL, JUST DEEP TO THE SCABBED AREA.

CONTINUE CURRENT TREATMENT PLAN AND RECHECK ON LAST DAY OF TREATMENT, FOR RESOLUTION

ALLOWS ALL HANDLING, ATTENTION SEEKING.  EATING WELL.  BCS 3/9; TEETH CLEAN, EYES CLEAR, NO OCULAR DISCHARGE, MILD SEROUS NASAL DISCHARGE, EARS WNL; NORMAL THORACIC AUSCULTATION; NORMAL ABDOMINAL PALPATION; MULTIPLE OLD WOUNDS AROUND FACE AND NECK; MOST SIGNIFICANT WOUND AT RIGHT SIDE OF NECK (ABSCESS) SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVED SINCE INITIAL PRESENTATION, RESIDUAL SOFT TISSUE SWELLING, NO SIGNS OF INFECTION; AMBULATORY X 4; MALE

A: HEALING ABSCESS, HEALING WOUNDS; UNDERWEIGHT

P: CONTINUE WITH CURRENT TREATMENT AND MONITORING PLAN. EXCELLENT PROGNOSIS

01/19/16  VC: Recheck swelling under right mandible. S/O: BARH, APP ++. Swelling is resolving well, edema is resolving, small amount of firm soft tissue palpable SQ. Not painful

A: Resolving bite wound

P: Continue current treatment and monitoring

Prognosis: Excellent

01/17/16 VC – RECHECK SWELLING RESPONSE TO ANTIBIOTICS. S/O: Puppy is Q/BARH; BCS 3/9; EENT – clear; T-100.6, P-80, R-sniff; MM – pink, moist; CRT < 2s; Heart/lungs auscult wnl; Abdomen soft, non-painful; Semi-firm linear SQ swelling extending from caudal right mandible down neck (approx 7-9cm in length total); several superficial scabbed wounds

A:  Bite wound/cellulitis appears to be healing

P: Continue Clavamox – changing dose to 125mg BID and adding Doxycycline preventatively.  Puppy does not seem painful so not adding Rimadyl at this time.  Recheck daily until resolved or placed.

PROGNOSIS: Good-Excellent
