Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag:1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Or dog indicates play with huffing, soft ‘popping’ of the body, etc. Dog might jump on Assessor once play begins. Squeeze 1&2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed. Toy: 1. Dog settles down close to chew, will relinquish toy to you. Ringo was surrendered as a stray so his past behavior around dogs is unknown. 12/7: When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Ringo initially ignores the novel female dog. He eventually approaches her and greets briefly, then begins to pace around the perimeter of the pen. He is tolerant of her face to face greets. After a few minutes of pacing, Ringo begins to mount her, persistent after handler interruptions. 12/8: With a male dog, Ringo continues to anxiously pace the pen. When the other male attempts to mount him, Ringo spins his rear end and bounces away and offers a soft correction. 12/9: Ringo persistently mounts a male dog after the handlers interrupt. When the other male offers Ringo an appropriate correction, Ringo becomes reactive towards him, growling and snapping. 12/10: Ringo is sexually motivated, persistently licking the female’s genital area. When she manages his sexually motivated behavior by spinning his rear end away from him, he explores the pen.
