You know you’re one of the sweetest hearts around when people actually joke about it. “Oh Dyno. No, he’s not nice at ALL.” “Not like he’s just perfect in every way, right?” “No I’m not madly in love with Dyno. Not one bit.” (The last comment may have been mine.) And it’s true. Try and find things to dislike about this 14 year-old charmer and you’ll come up empty handed. Despite the different spelling Dyno does remind me of the Rat Pack of yore. He is gentlemanly, smooth, charismatic, and handsome, and I can easily picture him rubbing elbows with Sinatra or maybe enjoying a cold martini (or two). Dyno is a golden boy in his golden years though truth be told I’d never have guessed how golden. Despite some natural and cosmetic wear and tear Dyno, exudes youth and the contentedness that comes with youth. He walks well on leash, takes his treats gently, and while he still appears to be working on his basic commands – well you know what they say about learning new tricks. Dyno may be content in the here and now but what he deserves is to know joy. To know safe, to know certain, to know forever, to know home. Dyno is waiting in adoptions at Manhattan’s ACC.

Rick is a chill guy counting a few seasons that treated nicely his handsome body. A mild cloudiness in his eyes and few calluses give away his age but across the board, he is in great shape and spry, sporting a well groomed coat and showing a very gentle and sociable personality. Indeed, Rick is a very likable eight year old gent, easy going, friendly and who really does not want to get into any squabble with his peers when they bark at him. He seems to like little dogs too, may be because he lived with one named Marty( also with us ). Marty and Rick were found abandoned in an apartment as their owners were evicted and had to leave them behind. Both of them are most likely very house trained and were found in a spotless place, relieving themselves as they were taken out…Same here at the care center. Rick is a sweet chap who enjoys caresses as well as treats that he takes very gently from my hand. He can sit on command and even jump…He is a great walker, does not chase birds and does his business on the way. Both Rick and Marty are endearing dogs, likely house dogs who like their masters, got out of luck…They did not come to us with any curriculum vitae but they exhale goodness and spell…family dogs… Will you give Rick and Marty a chance to show how good they are…in your hands ? They are waiting for you, dreaming of you…at the Manhattan Care Center.
