02/02/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Puppy Remy is not yet aged to perfection (like the liqueur after which she was named), but is well on her way to being perfection. Adorably wiggly and playful, she loves making new friends of both the two legged and four legged variety, and when a workman awaiting entrance to a nearby apartment smiled at her she wiggle butted her way over for a hug! She loved the attention, tail wagging joyfully and giving kisses. She’s bouncy on leash, just a sweet puppy enthusiastically greeting the world. Her tail never stops wagging, and she’s cuddly and playful. Off leash in a pen, Remy play bows to a small dog in an adjoining pen, loved a good game of fetch with me, and let me take the ball right out of her mouth. Remy showed off her sit, putting on her serious face for a picture, softly taking a treat, and then bouncing off to greet another dog before coming back to play bow to me. Her sweet puppy energy is looking for an active home in which structure, love, playtime and everything a puppy needs is there for her to help her grow into the amazing adult dog she’s meant to me. If you’re a puppy person (not everyone is) she’s hoping to meet you today.

02/02/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
Upon entering the care center Remy was initially uncomfortable when interacting with other dogs. However, she quickly warmed up and exhibited her exuberant play style. She can be pushy when soliciting but she is not comfortable with dogs similar to her and will offer correction. She came from a home with a male dog (who is equally as exuberant) and her owner reports that they “got along well and are very affectionate to each other.” Based on this information the behavior department feels that Remy could go to a home with another overly playful dog, male or female. When off leash with other dogs, Remy initially seeks handler attention, then eventually approaches the helper dog to solicit soft play. 2/3 update: Remmy rushes into the pen, immediately jumping on the helper dog to solicit play. However, when she is solicited by a pushy male puppy who has a similar play style she offers correction. She interacts well in a large group of dogs. 2/6 update: Remy engages in running play, often stopping to lick the other dogs lips. If mounted she will attempt to solicit play in return.
