Remix
Hello, my name is Remix. My animal id is #18512. I am a male black dog at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 5 years old.
***A private donor has graciously offered $500 to the New Hope Partner that pulls Remix***
I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 17-Jan-2018, with the surrender reason stated as person health – medical.
Let’s get to know each other a bit more…
A volunteer writes: How do you make a classic family dog even more fun? Remix! Black and white and adorable all over, this snuggly sweetheart lives to love on people and his intake notes speak for themselves…Remix was running in circles and rolling over for belly rubs, always looking to play and wagging his whole body the entire time, he even let our counselor pick him up! Crouch down at his level and he’ll smother you in hugs and smooches, take his paw and he’ll lavish yours with kisses, show him a lap and he will climb into it. No one is cuddlier than Remix! He walks well on leash, seems very house trained and greets dogs of all sizes with friendly good manners and while he never had a chance to socialize with other pups in his previous home, he’s already made some special lady friends in playgroup. Remix also enjoys tug toys, which he’s happy to share, and games of chase and apparently he even likes being groomed! Come meet this lovebug extraordinaire at our Manhattan Care Center today, you’ll be so glad you did.
My medical notes are…
Weight: 65.25 lbs

Potential challenges: : Basic manners/poor impulse control
Potential challenges comments:: Basic manners/poor impulse control: Remix’s previous owner reported he jumps up to greet people in a social manner, which we have also seen at the care center. It is recommended that default behaviors such as “Leave it”, “Sit/Stay”, “Down” are reinforced to substitute any frustration and teach him to control his impulses instead of simply reacting; proper management is also advised. Force-free, reward based training only is recommended.
