KNOWN HISTORY: Limited Profile Date of intake 9/11/2017 Unaltered female, stray Previously lived with: two similarly sized dogs Bite history: Razzle came in with two other dogs, all had superficial bite wounds, no details. SAFER ASSESSMENT: Date of assessment 9/15/2017 Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. Her ears are back, her tail is down, and she has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, her tail is between her legs, lip lick, ears back Tag: 2. Dog follows but stays close to assessor, alert and cautious. She needs significant coaxing to approach at end of game. Squeeze1 / 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Toy 1. No interest. Summary: Razzle was somewhat cautious throughout upclose tactile portion of the assessment, though tolerated handling without issue. INTAKE BEHAVIOR: Date of intake 9/11/2017 During intake, Razzle allowed all handling. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Date of initial 9/11/2017 During her initial medical exam, Razzle allowed all handling. ENERGY LEVEL: We have no history on Razzle so we cannot be certain of her behavior in a home environment. In the care center, Razzle displays a high level of energy. She will benefit from daily mental and physical activity to keep her engaged and exercised, we recommend daily walks, runs, exercise, and play. RECOMMENDATIONS: Experienced (suitable for an adopter with some previous dog experience, especially in the behavior outlined below) Potential challenges: _X_Handling/touch sensitivity- Razzle was a bit uncomfortable during Tag portion of the assessment, cautious and alert to assessor’s proximity. She appears uncomfortable and uncertain with quick movements. She may do best with a slow introduction, preferably with treats. Razzle should never be forced to submit to petting or handling when she is uncomfortable.
