A volunteer writes: Mention rain anywhere and you’ll usually get lots of “Oh no! I didn’t bring an umbrella” in response. But mention Rain at Brooklyn ACC and you’re sure to get lots of “Oh my gosh! I LOVE HER” in response! She can be a little shy at first, but give her a moment (and some treats…she loves those!) and you’ll fall in love too. She’s never pulled a bit on any of our walks, seems housebroken, and already knows “sit” and “down.” She’s quiet as a mouse in her cage, wags her tail when I baby talk to her, and is warming up to be cuddly. She likes to play fetch, and has done fine in our doggie playgroups (she might need a minute to warm up to new dogs, too). She does get startled by loud noises and lots of commotion, but I think with someone she trusts at her side, she’ll become much more brave. What she lacks in ears, she more than makes up for in heart, and what she needs is a home… please come see if incredibly sweet Rain could be in your forecast every day!!
For more information on adopting from the NYC AC&C, or to find a rescue to assist, please read the following: http://urgentpodr.org/adoption-info-and-list-of-rescues. If you are local to the Tri-State, New England, and the general Northeast United States area, and you are SERIOUS about adopting or fostering one of the animals at NYC ACC, please read our MUST READ section for instructions, or email [email protected]. Our experienced volunteers will do their best to guide you through the process. * We highly discourage everyone from trusting strangers that send them Facebook messages, offering help, for it has ended in truly tragic events.* For more info on behavior codes and ratings, please click here: http://information.urgentpodr.org/acc-placement-status-descriptions.
