05/11/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Helper dog: A1072027 Quincy came in as a stray, so his past behaviors in a home are unknown. At intake it was reported Quincy was calm and had relaxed body posture, he allowed all handling. During SAFER Quincy came into the assessment room nervous and timid, he was not interested with the assessor he would consistently pull away from the handler. Not all handling items were able to be conducted as Quincy head flips and low growl when attempting to pet him. He displayed no interest in the toy item during this portion of the assessment. When on leash for a dog interaction with another dog on leash Quincy does not approach, but instead turns his body to the side and exits. In light of this behavior we feel that placement with a rescue who can provide positive reinforcement-based behavior modification is the best option at this time. Toy 1: No interest. Dog-dog: 2. Dog does not approach the helper dog. Turns body to side in relation to other dog, or exits.
