09/06/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: What’s adorable, petite as a peanut, and brindled all over (me)? Why, it’s Samson! 2 year-old Samson came to us as a stray after being found wandering alone at a dog park. As heartbreaking as it is for us to imagine this beautiful boy suddenly looking up to realize he had been left behind, Samson himself shows no signs of dwelling in that past. He is an old-fashioned mix of wiggles, kisses, and smile-inducing grunts, all ensuring the perfect recipe for endless human happiness. Samson walks very well on leash, trotting out in front of me, oblivious to the “aww”s and “look!”s he effortlessly acquires. He loves to sit for his treats and loves YOU to sit even more. What better moment for him to jump right into your lap? And in your lap is where Samson is happiest, wiggling, kissing, and grunting his way through life. What’s ready, willing, and one trip to East Harlem away from a lifetime of happiness? Why, that’s you. Samson is waiting in adoptions at Manhattan’s ACC.

Squeeze 1/2: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw.. Toy: 1. Minimal interest. Dog may smell or lick toy, then turn away. Playgroup notes: When introduced off leash to another dog in the care center, Samson greets politely with a soft body and remains interested. His finder does not report him interacting with any other dogs while in her care, but he was found at a dog park; however, this is not indicative of his in-home behaviors with other dogs. The behavior department recommends a pre-adoption interaction before placing Samson into a home with other dogs.
