Objective ; P =120 R = wnl BCS: 5/9; EENT: NSOU, dark/waxy/chronic otitis AU, no nasal or ocular discharge noted; Oral Exam: grade 3 periodontal disease; PLN: No enlargements noted; H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic; ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated; U/G: female spayed, no mgts or dc; MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, poor, sparse hair coat (generalized alopecia) no dermatitis noted; CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities; Assessment: otitis, chronic AU; alopecia: rule out endocrine vs other; periodontal disease; Prognosis: good; Plan: ; clean ears, continue to treat with otobiotic; recommend periodontal therapy; recommend work up for endocrine causes of alopecia (rule out cushings/thyroid dz/etc); continue to monitor at ACC; SURGERY: already altered

How is this dog around children?Pumpkin has spent time in the home around a 10 year old child. When around them she is relaxed and affectionate. When playing with children she is gentle.
How is this dog around other dogs?Pumpkin has not spent time in the home around other dogs so it is unknown how she will react.
How is this dog around cats?Pumpkin has not spent time in the home around cats so it is unknown how she will react.

Other Notes:Pumpkin isnt bothered when being bathed or brushed. She has never had her nails trimmed so it is unknown how he will react. If someone was to approach her house or family member she will bark.

For a New Family to KnowOwner described Pumpkin as friendly affectionate and mellow. When at home he will follow her owner around. Pumpkin is older and doesn’t care to play with toys. She has been kept mostly indoors and eats both wet and dry food. She is very much house trained and never has accidents. When left alone in the house she is well behaved. She is used to brisk walks on the leash. When off the leash she will stay by your side.
Behavior Notes:During intake Pumpkin was nervous after a few minutes she warmed up. She allowed the counselor to collar and take her picture with no problems.

1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, eyes are averted, and tail is in neutral position with a relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item.
