She does get frightened by loud noises and sometimes will cower down. She does not like water and will struggle during bathtime. For a new family to know Pryncess is described as shy at first but loves treats, very affectionate, friendly and cuddly. She loves to cuddle and loves petting. She loves to give kisses and play. Her favorite activity is running and chasing the ball. She loves squeaky toys. She knows how to sit(“down”)come and stay. She is well behaved when left alone in the home. She was fed Pedigree. Behavior during intake Pryncess was shy when approached but her tail wagged. She was given treats. She relaxed after a few minutes and allowed petting. She was leashed and collared. A Volunteer Wrote: Surrendered after an entirety of her life with the same owner (he became ill and was unable to care for her), the noble Pryncess shows the glory of being beloved for the first part of her life: A beautifully behaved, loving dog who is dear with humans as well as with other dogs (she formerly lived with one and she is sweet with the new ones she meets in playgroup here!) This elegant-looking lab mix walks beautifully on a leash and while she is understandably feeling down finding herself in the shelter, after some time outside to shake off her cares her tail begins to wag with such hope and sweetness. Her former owner describes her as shy at first but very affectionate, friendly and cuddly, and loving to run and give kisses and play…and we concur wholeheartedly! We’re hoping our Pryncess-who is reportedly perfectly behaved when left to her own devices at home– is ruling the roost in your loving home before the day is out! Another volunteer writes: I do not mingle with royals but yesterday, I had my chance to spend time with a princess…If they are all like her, that is the crowd I want to be with…Pryncess is a beauty, very elegant and well mannered. In my book ( old fashion fairy tales book..), princesses are supposed to be just like that. Pryncess is leashed easily, walks beautifully by my side, checking with me from time to time to see if she is doing the right thing. Her tail wags softly and a big smile can be seen on her face. She does her business in one stop and nears a number of dogs and birds uneventfully. She sits on command, gives paw and takes treats very politely. At the end of our walk, I sat on a bench with Pryncess half spread on my lap. I felt….like a queen…. You see, when one seeks the company of top of the line pooches, one feels like a star…Pryncess is a proven family dog who will once again show her wonderful skills if she is given a chance to belong again…. Come and meet her very soon at the Manhattan Care Center.
