Priness came into the shelter as a stray, so her past behaviors in a home are unknown. During Intake Priness was friendly. She allowed all handling. During SAFER Priness was friendly and had a loose body posture when interacting with the assessor, She allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Priness was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resource portion of the assessment. Priness was easy to handle when engaged with the items. Priness appears to be sociable, and did not display any behavior concerns, so the department feels she can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Toy: 1. No interest. Look: 1. Dog holds gaze with soft eyes, soft body. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds. Sensitivity: 1. Leans in and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is wagging with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is open for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Or dog indicates play with huffing, soft ‘popping’ of the body, etc. Dog jumps on Assessor once play begins. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Her eyes are averted and her ears are relaxed. Dog-Dog:When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Priness greets the other dog displaying confident body language. She is social, checking in on the male dogs often as she wanders in the pen.
