11/12/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Princess Luv is a very special girl, and a luv for sure! She is very quiet in her kennel but jumps up when I come by and looks excited to see me and to go out. She solicits attention from people we pass in the hallway. When we find a quiet spot outside I crouch down and she gobbles up treats from me. She makes lots of eye contact and nudges in close to me so she is not really shy or timid with humans. She’s actually more affectionate than a lot of more outgoing dogs. But she does seem to be a bit afraid of noises, but I comfort her and all is well. In fact, she walks like a dream on the leash and is super easy to handle. As someone that adopted a dog with a VERY similar personality 2 years ago, I can tell you that nurturing a fearful dog to become more confident and the bond that comes with their trust is one of the most amazing and rewarding experiences ever! Well worth the extra patience it takes I assure you. And when you meet Luv (as I prefer to call her) and she sticks her face in yours and looks at you with those sweet soulful eyes, you will have no problem being patient with her.
