08/20/2017 PET PROFILE MEMO
08/20/17 14:03 Basic Info: Princess A1122660 is an 8yr old spayed female red medium size breed dog who was taken in 2wks ago after her owner moved away without her and is being surrendered due to no time. Princess’s last veterinary visit is unknown and currently has no known illness’. Socialization: Princess is friendly/outgoing with strangers. She was friendly, affectionate, relaxed & exuberant (at times) with the adult in the home. Princess hasn’t bitten/scratched any person or animal and according to the finder Princess previously lived with her brother who would get along but play fight a little roughly together. Behavior: Princess hasn’t had the following done to know her behaviors: having her treats/food/food bowl, toys touched/moved, having her nails trimmed, being brushed or being disturbed while sleeping/resting. Princess enjoys baths. During her two week stay Princess did urinate on the couch and get into the garbage (when left home alone). For a New Family to Know: Princess is described as friendly, playful, affectionate, excitable & loving with a low-medium activity level. She’s an indoor mostly dog who’s walked 2-3x a day; she uses wee wee pads, eats dry Pedigree dog food 2x a day, sleeps on the floor and enjoys ball, stuffed & squeaky toys. Intake Behavior: Princess had a loose, wiggly body and allowed all handling. She allowed to be collared and taken pictures of. Princess walked alongside a coworker and allowed them to assist her in placing her onto the transport van with ease.
08/22/2017 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Make way for smiles, snuggles and the shining promise of a lifetime of love…Princess is here to steal your heart! 8 years young and just as regal as her name suggests, this sweet senior is the most popular gal in Adoptions. Every volunteer lucky enough to meet her leaves singing her praises. She’s gentle, friendly, outgoing, extremely affectionate and smart as can be, the perfect partner for everything from strolling sedately through the park to getting smoochy on a bench. She also comes complete with a host of known commands and glowing notes from the person who found her. Come, sit, stay and shake (with either paw) are second nature to Princess (when she’s not busy lounging seductively of course!) and she performs like a champ for treats, nibbling them ever so softly from my hand. While she can pull eagerly to get outside, once the door closes behind us she slows her pace to match mine, then proceeds to walk like true doggie royalty, checking in frequently and taking care of all her business along the way. Princess greets passing pups politely, but was a bit overwhelmed by her first off-leash interaction. As we’re told she liked to ‘play rough’ with the resident dog during her two-week home stay with her finder, patience and slow introductions are a must when meeting new four-legged friends. No need for any such measures with the two-legged crowd, though. Princess simply cannot get enough of our love. The minute she spots an empty seat, she’s on it and looking up with an expectant expression that speaks loud and clear: it’s time for snuggles! We nuzzle close as she blissfully relaxes into belly rubs, side massages and face caresses before returning my kisses with wonderfully delicate little licks of her own. On the walk back to the Care Center, we’re both floating on a happy cloud of mutual adoration, and I can’t think of a better therapy dog candidate than our Princess. She’s the perfect embodiment of unconditional love and comfort, and an absolute joy to be around. Already spayed and ready to leave as soon as possible, this gorgeous girl is going to make the most amazing family pet. Could yours be the amazingly lucky family who gets to take her home?
