PROFILE :
Basic Information:
Princess is an 11 year old spayed female that currently has an inoperable hernia. Owner stated Princess had no previous medical issues that she was aware of.
Socialization:
According to the owner, Princess is friendly around strangers. She came from a home that had children, other dogs and a cat and she was relaxed and playful with all of them. Owner stated that when Princess is playing with another animal or person she can bark a lot. Princess has never bit another animal or person.
Behavior:
Princess is friendly when someone would take away her food, treats and toys, being pushed off furniture, when she was given a bath, having her coat brushed, and being held/restrained. Owner stated when unfamiliar people would approach her house, Princess would bark but was friendly. Owner never trimmed her nails therefore behavior is unknown.
For a New Family to Know:
Princess was described as friendly, affectionate, playful, mellow and independent with a high activity level. She likes to follow the owner around the house or be in the same room as the owner. When left alone in the house, Princess is well behaved. Princess was kept mostly indoors and loves to play with balls and squeaky toys. Owner stated that she fed Princess Pedigree dry food. When on the leash. Owner stated that Princess pulls lightly on the leash and would stop pulling when owner told her to stop. Owner has never tried to take her for a walk off leashe because she was afraid Princess would run away. For exercise, Princess would go on slow walks on the leash or to a dog park. Owner feels that any type of household would be ideal for Princess.
During intake: Princess allowed all handling. I was able to scan her for a microchip, and put an ID collar on her. She was soliciting attention by jumping on my leg and asking for belly rubs.
