Medical Summary Estimated age: 10 yr Microchip noted on Intake? yes. Stray suspect HBC. Stray from BXACC. Comatose with palpebral reflex Evidence of Trauma seen – yes, pet has bite marks ( presumed to be self inflicted) on tongue T = 99.9 P = 60 R = slow BCS 9/9 EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted, tongue protruding, has bite wounds on both surfaces, swollen Oral Exam: jaw locked, cannot assess interior, mm hyperemic generalized staining, worn crowns PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic bradycardia ABD: TFTP U/G: spayed female MSI: BCS 9/9, laterally recumbent, non responsie except for palpebral reflex no fractures seen/palpated abrasions dorsal aspect hind paws soiled coat CNS: comatose Rectal: soft stool mutliple view of skull, neck, thorax, abd findings: good serosal detail in abd, bladder intact, large amount of air throughout GI tract, otherwise NSF CBCCHEM: TBili elevated, hypoglyemia, PLT low, Assessment r/o xylitol toxicity vs neoplasia Plan IV catheter, bolused LRS 1L, followed by 3.5 grams diluted dextrose given in 1.5 g pushes 5%dextrose bolused 300ml, then maintained on 5% dextrose 90ml/hr pet became more reactive, twitching, after 1 hr of therapy, was able to chec BG by glucometer at 25 convulsions started, gave 1.5 g dextrose bolused, followed by Diazepam 0.5mg/kg bolused, convulsions quieted. needs transfer to critical care specialist for futher eval/treatment Prognosis: guarded
