09/12/2017 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes (as dictated by Prince): Gentle giant seeks loving family for cuddles, chilled out walks, and more! Me: Handsome, middle-aged and easy-going. I’m ready to party any time with anyone, person or dog, but always keep things calm and respectful. You: Affectionate yet independent, and looking for a soulmate who’ll always stick by your side. My interests include treats, full body massages, going for walks and spending quality time with family and friends. I’m a great listener, a good leash walker and I love to travel. I prefer a slower pace, so stopping to smell the roses (or anything else we find) is always a must–no joggers, please! Currently living in the city, but open to any location or family size, and despite weighing over 100 pounds, friends tell me I’d fit easily into almost any home. Meet me at Manhattan Animal Care Center on 110th St and let’s see if we’re a match!

RECOMMENDATIONS: Experience (suitable for an adopter with some previous dog experience, especially with behaviors outlined below) _X_No young children (under 5): Due to handling sensitivity seen when Prince’s paw was touched, we recommend a home without young children. Potential challenges: X_Handling/touch sensitivity: Prince has been noted to become uncomfortable with handling at times, especially when his paw was touched, tensing and moving away. It is important to always go slow and give Prince the option to walk away from any social interaction. Prince should never be forced to approach anything that he is uncomfortable with or to submit to petting or handling. It should always be Prince’s choice to approach a new person or thing. Prince may do best in an initially calm and quiet home environment and should be given time to acclimate to his new surroundings.
