PROFILE
Prince is a 14 year old male Yorkshire terrier. Prince has no teeth left but still has a great smile. Owners have had Prince for several years and got him as a gift. Owners are surrendering Prince because of his age
SOCIALIZATION
Prince has lived with children ages ranging from 2 to 16 and gets along well with them. When prince plays with children he is very gentle but when he doesn’t want to play anymore he will walk away from them. Around strangers prince is friendly and outgoing. Prince has not been socialized with cats but has lived with other dogs. Around dogs Prince is relaxed and playful he plays gently with the dogs he’s lived with and is respectful towards dogs outside.
BEHAVIOR
During storms and rife works Prince is calm but if it’s raining outside he does not like to go for his walks. Prince isn’t bothered when having his food bowl touched while eating or having toys and treats taken away. Prince allows you to bathe him and trim his nails with no problem but does not like to be blow dried and will try to run away. When someone unfamiliar approaches the house Prince will lay down while they greet him. Prince enjoys being brushed isn’t bothered by being pushed off furniture.
FOR THE NEW FAMILY TO KNOW
Prince was described as friendly and affectionate with a low to medium activity level. When home with prince he likes to follow you around when he wants affection or he like to lounge in his favorite spot. Prince does not play with toys much anymore. Prince is mostly house trained but has had accidents. Prince goes on 2 walks a day and is wee wee pad trained. Prince will only use the Wee Wee pad once and if it is not changed he will use the bathroom on the floor. Prince is well behaved when left in the house alone. When off leash outside Prince will wander forward but come back when called. Prince eats only wet food now because he has no teeth. Prince would do well in a loving home.
