01/26/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Prince came in as a stray, there was limited information giving at this time. Prince previously lived with 2 adults and 1 cat. The surrender stated Prince is playful with the cat and seeks attention from other dogs he sees. At intake it was reported Prince was friendly and loose for all handling. During SAFER Prince came into the assessment room loose and wiggly, he was friendly and social towards the assessor. He allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Prince joins the game and was vocal during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Prince was easy to handle when engaged with the item. When off leash with other dogs, Prince initially greets at the gate with a loose, wiggly body however once he is let into the pen his energy skyrockets. He became stiff and offensively sexually motivated, mounting and wrapping his legs around the helper dog while expressing low gutteral growls. Due some concerns with Prince dog to dog interaction, the behavior department feels he can be suitable for an experience adopter and we recommend being the only dog in the household. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. His ears are back, his tail is down, and he has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Or dog indicates play with huffing, soft ‘popping’ of the body, etc. Dog jumps on Assessor once play begins. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed. Toy 1: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. He does not place his body between you and the toy. Dog-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Prince initially greets at the gate with a loose, wiggly body however once he is let into the pen his energy skyrockets. He became stiff and offensively sexually motivated, mounting and wrapping his legs around the helper dog while expressing low gutteral growls.
01/25/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
When off leash with other dogs, Prince initially greets at the gate with a loose, wiggly body however once he is let into the pen his energy skyrockets. He became stiff and offensively sexually motivated, mounting and wrapping his legs around the helper dog while expressing low gutteral growls. 2/01 update: Prince again enters the pen and immediately attempts to mount the helper dog. He does not respond to human interruptions and each time he is pulled back and given the opportunity to slow himself down, he returns to his previous obnoxious sexually motivated behavior.
