Basic Information: Prince is a 15 year old male black, brown and white small mixed breed dog. Prince lived with previous owner for 5 years and used to live with the owner’s daughter. Prince was surrendered because he may have an underlying medical condition that his owner could not care for. Prince has no injuries and has not been taken to the vet recently.
Previously lived with: Prince previously lived with one adult.
How is this dog around strangers? Prince is friendly and outgoing with strangers. Prince will allow strangers to approach him and pet him. Prince will approach strangers to sniff them.
How is this dog around children? Prince has previously interacted with children aged 2 and 6 years old. Prince does not play with them and struggles when they try to pick him up.
How is this dog around other dogs? Prince is friendly around other small dogs. Prince will approach them with a wagging tail and will sniff them.
How is this dog around cats? Prince has previously interacted with a cat. Prince is described as being friendly with the cat.
Resource guarding: Prince is not bothered if his food or bowl is touched while he is eating. Prince is not bothered if a toy, treat, bone or object is taken away from him.

For a New Family to Know: Prince is a friendly and playful dog. When at home, Prince likes to follow you around and be in the same room as you. Prince was kept as an indoors only dog and slept on his dog bed. Prince was fed dry food twice a day. Prince is mostly house trained and used a wee-wee pad. Prince would have accidents only a few times a month. For exercise, Prince we out for slow walks on the leash. When off a leash, Prince will wander some but comes when called.
Behavior Notes:Upon intake, Prince approached me and sniffed my feet. Prince allowed me to place a leash on him and allowed me to collar him. Prince allowed me to pet him and allowed me to pick him up and carry him. Prince allowed another counselor to carry him and place him inside a kennel.
