09/05/2017 PET PROFILE MEMO
09/05/17 19:29 Basic Information: Prin is a female, black and white medium sized dog. Her owner purchased her off of a breeder when she was 7 weeks old. Her owner cannot keep her anymore due to his living situation. She last went to the vet about 2 months ago but has no known health problems. Socialization: Around strangers Prin is playful and friendly. She was around children ages 2 years old and up and very gentle and exuberant with them. She’s only been around her sister twice and was playful other than that its unknown. Behavior: She isn’t bothered when you touch her food while she’s eating. She’ll friendly and will want to play when you take the toys or bones away. She isn’t bothered in the bath or getting brushed. She will bark when a stranger approaches the home or a family member. For A New Family to Know: Prin is friendly with a high activity level and enjoys being in the same room as you. She enjoys balls and chew bones and loves to play fetch and tug. She sleeps in her bed at night and the commands she knows are “sit” and “stay”. She loves running around for exercise and brisk walks on the leash where she only pulls lightly. Behavior During Intake: Prin lunged at me when walking to her and jumping on me with a wagging tail. She nipped at my fingers when collaring her and remained wagging her tail. She retreated when trying to scan her for a micro chip. She did allow to be pet and remained still when needed to be photographed
09/07/2017 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Playing is a very serious business in the mind of Prin. She is all ears, eyes (she does make googly eyes) and muscles, ready to catch a toy or a ball. She bounces through the yard, hops like a kangaroo on her hinds and beats the air with her forelegs, hoping to intercept the object before it hits the ground. Prin is quite an amazing sight…a tiny gal in white booties all in action. She likes to play tug of war. She does not guard treats or toys, which makes our game pretty safe. She mouths a little in her excitement . Yep, I really enjoy my time with Prin. She is a good walker, barely pulling on the leash. She does her business on the walk, but as young as she is, I do not know if she already is fully trained. She looked with interest at young kids coming out of a nearby school, and seemed to want to meet them. She used to live happily with young children, and it probably reminded her of good times. In playgroups with her peers, Prin was shy with grown up dogs, but played exuberantly with Niko, a puppy her age and probably more her “cup of tea”. Of course, although an active little ball of fire, Prin also likes to cuddle with her caretaker and to be caressed. Come and meet our little bundle of fun and joy here at the Manhattan Care Center and make her your very own forever best friend.
