04/27/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Preston came in as a stray; the finder was taking care of Preston for 2 months and has limited information. The finder stated Preston is friendly, gentle and outgoing with adults. The finder mentioned Preston is not house trained and has a high energy level. During SAFER Preston came into the assessment room loose and wiggly, he was friendly and social towards the assessor. He allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Preston was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Preston was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Preston appears to be sociable, and did not display any behaviors concerns, so the department feels he can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed. Toy: 1. Minimal interest in Toy, dog smells, then turns away. Dog-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Preston approaches and greets with a stiff body and whimpers. Once let into the pen he immediately becomes intensely sexually motivated, chasing the helper dog around attempting to mount and persists after being interrupted.
04/25/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
When off leash with other dogs, Preston approaches and greets with a stiff body and whimpers. Once let into the pen he immediately becomes intensely sexually motivated, chasing the helper dog around attempting to mount and persists after being interrupted. 4/28:Preston enters the pen with a tall body and high energy. When the gate is open he immediately attempts to mount and places his head under the other dog leg in order to lick her genitals. Whenever the other dog becomes uncomfortable and tries to increase her distance he chaes her. He is persistent after handler interruptions and the greeter dog’s corrections.
