PROFILE :
Upon intake dog was a bit fearful. She had he tail tucked between her legs and she was trembling. She growled a little and kept her head down. She calmed down and became a little more comfortable after counselor offered her some food and treats. She did not eat the treats but allowed all handling afterwards.
As per the client Precious has lived with her and her family since she was 1 year old. She has been in the home with several adults and children of all ages over the years. As she has gotten older her activity level is pretty low. She tends to sit quietly on the couch and does not solicit any attention but welcomes when someone offers a head rub.
Precious eats wet and dry food mixed. She does not react if you touch her while she eats and she is not bothered if you move her food bowl while she is eating. She is house trained and only has accidents in the home if she is not taken outside twice a day. She uses the bathroom in the grass. She walks easily on a leash and does not pull at all.
Precious allows children to play with her. When she doesn’t want to play anymore she will go and hide under the bed. She has never bitten or scratched anyone or another animal. She has never been around cats but she does not seem to be bothered by them when she sees them outside. She allows other dogs to sniff her if they approach her but does not seem interested in socializing with them. She allows you to bathe her with no struggle at all. She has never had her nails trimmed.
Group Behavior::
Precious’ previous owner reported that she allows other dogs to sniff her but does not seem interested in them.
10/31/16: When off leash at the Care Center, Precious is nervous, pacing and avoiding the other small male and female dogs. She mostly keeps to herself and explores the yard.
