Around other dogs she is respectful and will keep her distance she will not engage in play. She will bark and lunge when she sees cats while in the yard. Prada is housetrained and is used to hours of yard play. She is not bothered when her food is touched by owner but owner is unsure of her behavior if a stranger approaches her food or treats. He believes she might growl or snap. She enjoys baths and does not mind when she is restrained. Prada does not like when her paws are touched and will pull away and growl. Prada is described as a happy and mellow dog. She likes to follow her owner around the home and lived in a home with a yard. She likes to play with rope and stuffed toys and likes to play tug. 06/15/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Prada previously lived with two adults and two children ages 2 and 3 years old. The owner stated Prada is tolerant and relaxed around the children and will engage in gentle play. It was reported by the owner Prada will bark and lunge when she sees cats in the yard. The owner mentioned Prada is housetrained and is well behaved when home alone. The owner also stated Prada does not like when her paws are touched, she will pull away and growl. At intake it was reported Prada was shy and kept her distance, she became relaxed and too treats from the counselor. Prada allowed all handling. During SAFER Prada came into the assessment room anxious and panting, she was shy but social towards the assessor. Not all handling items were able to be conducted as Prada lip curled at the assessor on the Look item. She displayed no interest in the toy resource item during this portion of the assessment. In light of this behavior we feel that placement with a rescue who can provide positive reinforcement-based behavior modification is the best option at this time. Look: 5. Dog lip curls at the assessor. Toy: 1. No interest.
