04/05/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Prada came to us as an owner surrender due to his reactive behavior in the home. According to the owner Prada has lived with 4 adults and a 12 year old. He is reported to be friendly toward everyone in the home, but is very reactive toward strangers approaching him especially children that do not live with him. If a stranger attempts to pet Prada he will bark, growl, and expose his teeth. It was reported that Prada will growl and snap if someone attempts to take his food bowl from him. Prada does have a previous bite history of biting two staff members here in circumstances that could have possibly frightened him. Prada had soft and loose body when entering the behavior room and seemed interested in investigating and interacting with the assessor. When the assessor attempted to collar Prada, Prada had frozen body language and began to lip raise at the assessor. Due to safety concerns the handling portions of the assessment were not conducted. Prada showed some very concerning behavior during the toy test, and went to bite the assess-a-hand immediately with no warning when the assessor attempted to take the toy. Due to all known behavior information and Prada’s very reactive behavior we recommend placement with a NH partner at this time. Toy 1: 5. Dog attempts to bite When off leash with other dogs, Prada rushes and chases other dogs while persistently trying to mount. He does not respond to human interruptions or other dog’s corrections.
