08/24/16 20:09 Porter is a young adult male dog, possibly an APBT / American Staffordshire Terrier mix. He was found walking around outside and brought to ACC by police. Police report that he was friendly towards passersby who were walking dogs. He was friendly with police officers and allowed them to catch him and put him in a crate. Porter had a loose body and fast wagging tail during intake. He allowed staff to pet and restrain him. He pulled hard on his leash. He went in and out of his kennel when encouraged.
08/27/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Brindlicious, fun and energetic, Porter is ready to find his new fun person or family. A happy-go-lucky kind of a pup, he pulls hard on his leash to get to where the fun is! He may be housetrained going potty as soon as we were out the door, chases squirrels in the park, and with an excited tail wag bounces toward every dog we pass on our walk, and then surprisingly posed perfectly and quietly for pictures when I tethered him. Good boy Porter! Porter didn’t like either of my treats so bribing him for a sit wasn’t working but his ears perked up at my squeaky toy. Back at the building we stopped to say hello to a dog in a pen, Porter wagging his tail happily in a very appropriate how do you do? It was a hot and humid day so Porter was pooped from our excursion ready to hop back into his kennel, drink some water and lie down to catch his breath. Fun, friendly and exuberant, Porter is looking for a person or family who will appreciate his finest qualities and make him theirs. Is that you?

When introduced off leash to another dog in the care center, Porter displays persistantly sexually motivated behavior and follows the female greeter while attempting to mount. He has also displayed some on-leash reactivity when he walks past other dogs–barking, lunging and growling if the dog gets close.
