01/02/2017 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Porcha came to us with friend Mocha(with whom she bears a great resemblance) because of the NYCHA ban. She is collected in her kennel, sometimes sleeping or watching carefully the ins and outs of her ward. Porcha is ready when I present her with the leash. She is a great walker and does her business as soon as we exit the building(she is said to be house trained).Porcha as well as Mocha, does not look or act at all her age. She is lively and springy, jumps high for treats, sits at once on command and wags her tail non stop… Although she likely carried a number of litters, Porcha has been well cared for, appears healthy, wears a flawless coat and enjoys a great weight. She is a very friendly character, hops on the bench for closeness and welcomes caresses. She really looks like the family dog she was just yesterday. Porcha lived with a host of small children with whom she played nicely, her ten year old housemate Mocha and a cat she did not care for(nor harm) and was friendly to strangers. She liked to get into stuff and would growl if you took away her food/treat. She never tried to bite anyone, though. In playgroup with her peers, Porsha greets politely but becomes uncomfortable when other pooches are rambunctious around her. No need to say that Porcha would love to be somewhere else and be again the happy girl she was… There is no going back, though and we are hoping that Porcha will find again her livelihood with another master or family . Come and meet her soon at the Manhattan Care Center.
