A volunteer writes: On the day of the Super Bowl, while Denver fans were excitedly chanting, “Let’s go Broncos!” Payton was probably a bit less enthusiastic. Found as a stray with her buddy Cam, she found herself alone and in a new scary place. Quite the opposite of a football player, at under 40 pounds, our Payton is not likely to be staring down a defensive linebacker. In fact, when I first met her, I thought she was a puppy! Like her buddy Cam, she is very submissive, eager to please and always checking in for reassurance. Her size allows her to be quite the lap dog, and she will readily prop her paws into your lap if you invite her to. Like her namesake, you could string together a list of adjectives to describe Payton: a class act (dog), exceptional (companion), and champion (snuggler), but Payton doesn’t need a fancy trophy to validate her awesomeness: a warm bed and a home with a family is all she needs to make her feel like a winner! Ask to meet her today!
