BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION:: ADULT ONLY HOME
Behavior Asilomar: TM – Treatable-Manageable
Recommendations:: No children (under 13)
Recommendations comments:: No children-Due to Peter Pan high anxiety level and poor impulse control, we feel that an adult-only home would be most beneficial at this time.
Potential challenges: : Basic manners/poor impulse control,Anxiety
Potential challenges comments:: Basic manners/poor impulse control-It is recommended that default behaviors such as “Leave it”, “Sit/Stay”, “Down” are reinforced to substitute any frustration and teach him to control his impulses instead of simply reacting; proper management is also advised. Force-free, reward based training only is recommended. Anxiety-Peter Pan has shown some signs of potential anxiety in the care center, vocalizing (whining, jumping, panting, chattering and barking) continually through the SAFER and through play sessions outside. This behavior was not reported at intake, and we have no known history on Peter Pan, so we cannot be certain whether similar behavior will be seen in a future home environment.
