I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 11/10/2016 from NY 10035, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

11/10/16 11:11 Periwinkle is a geriatric male Shih Tzu mix. He was found alone, wrapped in a blanket in the stairwell of a building. His finder reports that he has difficulty walking. Periwinkle stood and walked a few steps in Admissions. He appears weak and lethargic. He was soft bodied, usually sitting and looking around. He remained soft-bodied while I pet him, scanned him (-), collared him, picked him up, and photographed him. He was even soft-bodied and tolerant while I wiggled him out of the small cart he was brought here in. He sat quietly while I worked.

Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, neutral Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash very slowly, body soft Squeeze 1 / 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed Toy: 1. Minimal interest in Toy, somewhat responds to squeak sound Summary: Periwinkle displayed no concern during his behavior assessment. PLAYGROUP: 11/11: When off leash with other dogs Periwinkle stands in one spot. He will sniff dogs that approach.
