A volunteer writes:
Pepper is a precious little Terrier, all wiry and so well groomed. She is 9 year old, was born at home…but her owner can not take care of her pet anymore…Precious is at her door and leashed without fuss. She is a great little walker and even does some business on the way. Very little information was left with us and we do not know if she is fully house trained or not. Other dogs are met and Pepper does not seem to mind. She is at her best in the yard, leash free. She explores, sniffs the grass. So many scents… May be she should rather hop on the bench next to me…Who knows who could pop out… Yep, my lap is a safe place and Pepper feels right at home. She is such a pretty girl, very unusual looking but so sweet and snuggly…She likes treats and takes them gently from my hand. Lovely Pepper is ready to meet you, spice up your life with her cute looks and sweeten your days with her love . Come and meet her soon at the Manhattan Care Center.

PROFILE :

Basic Information: Pepper was spayed 9 years old black & white Shih Tzu/Pitbull mix. She was bred at home and the previous family had her since she was a newborn. She was surrender because the previous owner could no longer take care of her.

Socialization: She was outgoing with strangers.

Upon intake: Pepper tolerated all handling and allowed collaring. She had a relaxed body posture. She was wiggly with the admission counselor.

For more information on adopting from the NYC AC&C, or to find a rescue to assist, please read the following: http://urgentpodr.org/adoption-info-and-list-of-rescues.

If you are local to the Tri-State, New England, and the general Northeast United States area, and you are SERIOUS about adopting or fostering one of the animals at NYC ACC, please read our MUST READ section for instructions, or email helpdogs@urgentpodr.org. Our experienced volunteers will do their best to guide you through the process.

* We highly discourage everyone from trusting strangers that send them Facebook messages, offering help, for it has ended in truly tragic events.*
