Medical Behavior Evaluation GREEN
Medical Summary Estimated age: 5-7 years Microchip noted on Intake? no History : stray, transport crew notes very thirsty on arrival, urine dark and foul odor. Subjective: BAR, about 5-7% dehydrated Observed Behavior – friendly, loose body language, allows full exam with minimal restraint. T = 102.7 P = 120 R = panting BCS: 5/9 EENT: Eyes clear, mild mucoid discharge OU, no conjunctivitis noted, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted Oral Exam: mild tartar, and normal wear PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, panting ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: female, intact. no mgts or vaginal discharge MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Assessment: adult female intact rottweiler, seems to be mildly dehydrated: rule out secondary to heat of day vs metabolic vs infectious (pyo?) vs other. Does not appear to be a pyo at pm exam. Plan: 500 ml LRS sq hold off on vaccines until recheck tomorrow: if doing well ok to give bordetella/rabies and 5-1 DHPP2 give microchip, dewormer and flea tx tonight recheck tomorrow (vet check). If not improving recommend screening bloodwork : CBC/Chem/TT4 and urinalysis. Prognosis: good SURGERY: Temporary waiver due to dehydration
