A volunteer writes:

Patches is our little rascal . He has a patch over the eye to prove it… He is quite a nice youngster who is carefree like a puppy, bouncing gently around, saluting other dogs and enjoying lap time for hugs and kisses. He is absolutely adorable in his impeccable snow white suit and his slightly shorter legs than his body. Could he be mixed with a Bassett Hound ? Patches walks very nicely on the leash, does his business without marking and meets nicely other pooches in the street. Same in playgroups  where he  clearly has fun running around with his peers, males and females. He is very friendly and sociable, welcoming in his kennel and does not have any “annoying ” habits like mouthing or going for the leash. Patches is all together a good looking babe, playful and affectionate, well mannered and good with other dogs who will make a wonderful forever best friend given a chance. He aced his behavioral evaluation as expected. So, come and meet him soon at the Manhattan Care Center. Patches will be waiting for you.
