05/16/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Regal Parker and little Lang, two unlikely companions, came to us as strays. Parker lays elegantly on his kuranda bed. A perfect hound with lovely ears framing a beautiful face. Gentle and a bit wary eyes are looking right into mine. I wave my leash. Parker is a tinsy winsy hesitant but comes forward and off we head for the street. To say the least, Parker is not a dare devil…He is quite shy. The elevator is not his cup of tea..I bet he never saw one in his entire life…He pulls a little on the leash and does his business without marking. He does not mind other dogs met, even the little ones. Pigeons do not have his attention. Free in the yard, Parker acts a like a Shepie, looking for exits and pacing a little. He does not want my treats. Eventually, being an intuitive “guy”, he relaxes a bit, even puts a smile on his face and “deals” with me, coming when I called him and accepting caresses, even putting his head in my lap for some comfort. Parker is quite a masterpiece (who seems to have been well cared for.) I see him running through fields and woods, hunting for wildlife to photograph with his master…Parker did very well on his behavioral evaluation and can be found in our adoption quarters. Come and meet him soon. He would love to be at home and loved…
