“We are family”…Yes, they are… Eleven year old Precious and her nine year old daughter, Paris are with us as their owner could not care for her pets anymore. Both gals have grown up and played with children, mingled with other small dogs and even a cat…They are friendly, playful, sociable and well mannered and seem to be true family dogs, happy to be around all creatures, big and small, humans or animals…Although I truly think they have been loved, Paris and Precious could have used a little bit more TLC. They are quite matted and a stop by the grooming salon is definitively a must. Both will be absolutely gorgeous after their makeover…Mom and daughter are very gentle, needy of human affection(they love the lap), good little walkers and probably house trained as indicated by their former owner. They like soft treats and take them very politely from my hand. Precious and Paris have many more years ahead of them providing they receive proper care and love. They are active, lively, very sweet , loving and come with great recommendations..They are a promise of happy times to come. Seniors make wonderful pets. I can vouch for that having had a number of them in my life…
PROFILE: 05/06/17 12:04
Basic:
Paris is a 9 year old female Maltese-Poodle mix. She was born in her owner’s home in 2008 and is being surrendered along with her mother, Precious, because her owner can no longer care for them due to a health condition. She has not had any injuries or health issues and hasn’t had a visit to the vet in a long time.
Socialization:
Around strangers Paris is friendly and playful. She has spent her whole life with children, now ages 10 and 13 and is is relaxed with them and plays with them gently and exuberantly. She plays with adults exuberantly. She has spent time with other small dogs in the home and with them is relaxed and playful. She plays exuberantly with other dogs. She spent some time around a cat and was relaxed around it. She does not have a bite history.
Behavior:
Paris will poop and pee inside at times. She is well behaved but will sometimes go through the trash. She gets nervous during storms and hides. She isn’t bothered when someone touches her food while eating, takes away a treat or a toy, pushes her off furniture, holds her, gives her a bath, brushes her, touches her feet. When someone unfamiliar approaches her owner she is friendly, but when someone unfamiliar approaches her house she will bark, but is friendly.
For New Family:
Paris is friendly, affectionate, and playful. Her activity level is medium. Her owner loves how cute she it. Paris’s favorite activity is to play with her mom at home. At home she will follow her owner around the house. She has been kept mostly indoors and sleeps with her Mother on their dog beds in the bathroom. She eats wet and dry Beneful and her favorite treat is chicken meat. She seems to be housetrained but spends the majority of her time indoors and has accidents a few times a week. She goes on the training pad inside, only if it is a clean on. Outside she will go on cement&grass. When left alone at home she is well-behaved. She has never been crate trained and knows “sit’. For exercise she plays at home with her Mother and on leash she pulls lightly. She has never been off leash.
During intake Paris was very friendly, sought affection and allowed all handling and collaring.
