01/27/2017 PET PROFILE MEMO
01/27/17 20:00 Counselor asked owner to collar because Paris was getting anxious. Counselor was able to pet her after owner left and Paris had a wiggly body with a low fast tail. She was jumping on the counselor to see what the counselor was doing. Counselor let her walk around the room freely. Paris seemed very anxious and was whining at the sounds on the other side of the door. Owner was stating how she barks at doors a lot and did not let her interact with anyone because she did not seem friendly. When counselor sat on the floor and spoke in high pitched voice, Paris’s body was very wiggly and she tried to curl into counselor and lick face.
01/30/2017 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Gorgeous Paris is with us as her owner lost his home. This is quite tough for master and pets…. Paris is no exception and she is clearly in need of comfort and support as she is extremely wary here at the care center. Paris is leashed easily and walks pretty fast in the street not forgetting to do her business, though. She is not showing interest in birds or dogs passing by. She does wag her tail low when she recognizes a staff she met earlier while in playgroup with her peers. She even attempts a standing hug. Free in a pen, she cries at times a little, comes when called, accepts briefly a caress but declines my treats. She runs briefly after a tennis ball but then stops. She has a way to go before becoming a more outgoing pooch, enjoying strolls to the park and playgroups with her kind. Paris is a beautiful snow white gal, well nourished and reasonably healthy. She comes with good comments from her former family. She is said to be quite energetic, played exuberantly with children and adults and loved toys….Paris is obviously not completely and understandably herself within our walls but outings with staff and volunteers as well as playgroups with her own kind might just turn her around and get her ready to move in …with you…as your forever best friend. Paris is at the Manhattan Care Center hoping to start a new life…
