A Volunteer comments: His light gray coat makes Paneer a sight to behold! He heeled rather nicely for some of the walk and gladly sits on command! He does have a lot of pent-up energy and would benefit from regular walks. He’s an affectionate sweetheart that loves to get petted!
BEHAVIOR :
Paneer came into our center after a member of the public found him tied to a fence. He was playful and pulled on leash upon intake. Paneer allowed his head to be cupped in assessor’s hands during Look item, eyes averted, jumped up towards assessor’s face, tooth clack. He leaned into assessor during Sensitivity item, ears back. Paneer followed at the end of the leash for Tag game, over aroused by third pass of game, jumping up to grab leash. He tugged and shook leash and required a reset of walking towards the door before positioning for Squeeze. Paneer moved his body and legs away during Squeeze attempt, so remaining item was conducted on Flank. He sniffed assessor’s hand during both Flank Squeezes. Paneer took Toy away with a loose body, kept a firm grip. When off leash with other dogs, Paneer engages in bouncy play with a social female. The Behavior Team feels Paneer would do best with an Experienced adopter who does not have very young children. Paneer would do best with daily mental and physical stimulation in the forms of walks, runs, exercise, play. He would benefit from obedience classes to learn leash manners as well as not to jump up.
Look: 2. Dog’s eyes are averted. , jumps up towards assessor’s face, tooth clack. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands.

4/28 update: Paneer engages in bouncy play with a social female. He eventually attempts to mount but is not offered correction from the helper dog.
