09/06/16 13:05 Panda was brought in as an owner surrender. Upon arrival Panda was extremely friendly and excited. He jumped and greeted everyone that came into the lobby. He allowed all handling and counselor was able to scan. photogragh and collar. As per owner Panda does well with other dogs. He jumps and plays with all dogs and shows no sihns of aggression. Panda plays with other cats as well. He does not try to bite nor does he growl however he does not realize how big he is and can be a bit over powering. Panda eats dry food. While eating he allows you to touch and pet him. He does not growl or show any aggression when his food bowl is moved Panda has been in the home with 2 adults and a 9 year old girl. Panda plays well with the 9 yr old. He likes to play fetch with his ball and other squeeky toys. Panda jumps on furniture and will chew on items left on the floor such as shoes. Panda is crate trained. He stays in the crate over night. Panda lets you know when he needs to go outside by hivering by the door. When being walked Panda pulls very hard on the leash and tries to chase birds and squirrels. He annot be walked off the leash becaus it is too hard to catch him afterwards

Panda previously lived with two adults and a nine year old child. The owner stated Panda plays well with the nine year old child. The owner mentioned Panda gets along well with cats as well. It was reported by the owner Panda will chew on items left on the floor such as shoes and etc., he is also house trained. At intake it was reported Panda was very friendly, he allowed all handling. During SAFER Panda came into the assessment room loose and wiggly, he was friendly and playful towards the assessor. He allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Panda joins the game during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Panda was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Panda appears to be sociable, and did not display any behaviors concerns, so the department feels he can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 1. Dog leans forward or jumps up to lick the Assessor’s face with tail wagging, ears back and eyes averted. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Or dog indicates play with huffing, soft ‘popping’ of the body, etc. Dog jumps on Assessor once play begins. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed. Toy 1: 1. Dog settles down close to chew, will relinquish toy to you. Dog-to-dog: When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Panda engages in high energy, puppy play. He continually solicits play by lying down and muzzle licking.

According to Panda’s previous owner, Panda does well with other dogs. He jumps and plays with all dogs and shows no signs of aggression. When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Panda engages in high energy, puppy play with male and female dogs. The Behavior Department recommends that Panda be placed in a home with dogs that are comfortable with his puppy play style and that a dog-dog interaction be conducted pre-adoption to ensure compatibility. 9/8: Panda engages in high energy, puppy play. He continually solicits play by lying down and muzzle licking. 9/9: Panda continues to engage in puppy play with male and female dogs.
