Hello, my name is Otto. My animal id is #16275. I am a male white dog at the Brooklyn Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 1 years old.
I came into the shelter as a stray on 16-Dec-2017.
Otto is at risk due to being diagnosed with Canine Upper Respiratory Disease Complex and will likely require home rest and a series of antibiotics for up to 14 days. This is a contagious illness to other dogs.

CIRDC noted on rounds S/O: BAR. Attention seeking. Decreased appetite (ate about half of food) EENT: Eyes clear, no ocular or nasal discharge HL: Dry cough INTEG: WLN MS: Ambulatory x 4 UG: Male A: CIRDC P: Rec doxycycline 350mg PO q24 x 14 days. Excellent prognosis

Otto was very energetic and active during intake. He was friendly but pulls very hard when on a leash.

Basic Information:: Otto was found as a stray so history is unknown. He is a young, large mixed breed male. He was no neutered prior to coming into the shelter.

Look:: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions.
Sensitivity:: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, eyes are averted, and tail is in neutral position with a relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item.
Tag:: 1. Dog follows at the end of the leash, body soft.
Paw squeeze 1:: 1. Dog gently pulls back his/her paw.
Paw squeeze 2:: 1. Dog gently pulls back his/her paw.
Toy:: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. Dog does not place his/her body between you and the toy.
Summary:: Otto was friendly during the handling assessment; social towards the assessor, and allowed all handling. He was a bit distracted during tag, but remained soft.
Summary (1):: Otto was surrender as a stray so her past behavior with other dogs is unknown. 12/19: When off leash at the Care Center, Otto greets the helper dog intensely and immediately becomes sexually motivated. He persistently sniffs the greeter’s genitalia then attempts to mount her. He is difficult to interrupt, and is separated. 12/20: Otto continues to engage in sexually motivated behaviors when paired with a playful female dog. He chases and corners her numerous times, attempting to mount her.
