09/22/2017 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: While one person might see Orlando as a run down skin and bones dog, another person will discover the socialite in him… Orlando absolutely loves to be with people and to be cared for. And care, well, he needs lots of it. His weight needs a lift, his coat craves for more hair and his general health could use a boost. He is ready when you are, gets leashed in an instant and strolls at a slow pace around the block, not forgetting to do his business. He is interested in his peers, big and small and is polite in playgroups, not really actively playing like his younger and healthier counterparts. Stay tuned, though as Orlando once “renewed” might prove to be a lively and spunky gentleman .He is a cute red fox perched on long legs who never fails to come when called, sits with some difficulties(although he does the stairs well) and enjoys to stay around his caretaker for petting. He likes treats and although thin, takes them quite politely from my hand. It was also funny to see him going with determination through my belongings, i guess in search for treats. It would be great to see Orlando landing with “his tush in butter” like we say in my former country, Belgium…A house with good food, treats, a warm and cushy bed and plenty of love…What a handsome and happy lad he would be… Come and meet Orlando at the Manhattan Care Center and make his dream and ours, a reality.

Based on behavior observed while in our care, the behavior department feels that Orlando may be most compatible with other dogs who are respectful and calm.
