05/26/16 16:10Hrs Oreo has lived with his owner for the past 10 years. He is described as independant. He is friendly with his owner but stays away from other people in the home. Oreo lives with children aged 2, 7 and 8 years old in the home. Oreo does not interact with them, he will growl if they approach him. Oreo is accustomed to being in the home all day and doesn’t interact with other dogs. BEHAVIOR Oreo will follow his owner around the home all day. He will growl if anyone approaches him while he is eating. He listens to directions when told to get off of her furniture. Oreo will attempt to bite if he is bathed. He is normally will bark at people that enter the home so he is normally locked in a room when there are guest. He is restricted to a room in the home when there is no one home because he will mark different areas. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Oreo likes to play stuffed toys. He knows the command “go to your bed.” Oreo is house broken to use wee wee pads. He doesn’t get walked outside regularly due to his owner’s injury. He eats table food. He sleeps on his bed at night near the front door of the house. DURING INTAKE Oreo would allow soft petting on his back and head. He would whimper and snap when touched on his face. He was collared, scanned for a microchip(negative) and photographed.

Oreo was a bit difficult to remove from his kennel with a fearful body language in the back of the kennel hunched body, tucked tail. Once he was removed from his kennel he walks with a fearful body language. Oreo is very fearful when the behavior team tries to collar him he repeatedly attempted to get away from the handler (body lowered, tucked tail, ears back and slightly curled his lips) the behavior team decided to skip the handling part of the assessment for safety reasons. During the resources Oreo was not interested in toys. He does not approach other dog, attempts to exit. Ore was surrender to us. According to her previous owner he is friendly with his owner but stays away from other people in the home. Oreo lives with children aged 2, 7 and 8 years old in the home. Oreo does not interact with them, he will growl if they approach him. Oreo is accustomed to being in the home all day and doesn’t interact with other dogs. He will growl if anyone approaches him while he is eating”. The behavior department feels that he would do best if placed with a New Hope partner who can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment and can provide any necessary behavior modification before placement into a permanent home.
