03/28/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Oreo came into our center as an owner surrender citing moving issues. During intake, he allowed all handling and was easy to place in and out of kennel. Oreo was relaxed during his initial medical exam. He walked nicely on leash for his relief walk, no pulling. Oreo allowed his head to be cupped in assessor’s hands, lip lick, a bit tense. He stood still and accepted the touch during Sensitivity item, lip lick, a bit tense. Oreo spun towards the hand on the second and third pass of Tag game, but approached assessor at end. He did not pull his paw back on both Squeeze attempts, lip lick. Oreo kept a firm grip on Toy, body becoming a bit stiff when approached by assess-a-hand. He slowly approached the helper dog with tail a bit low. Due to Oreo’s slight discomfort with up close tactile handling, the Behavior Team feels he would do best with an Experienced adopter that does not have very young children. Look: 2. Dog’s eyes are averted. His body posture is a bit tense, lip lick, his tail is low and not moving. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, his tail is between his legs, body a bit tense, mouth closed, lip long, ears back, lip lick. Tag 3 . Dog repeatedly spins toward the touch, tail is tucked, mouth closed Squeeze 1 / 2: 1. Dog does not pull back paw, lip lick Toy 1: 2. Dog grabs Toy quickly when approached, keeps a firm hold, a bit stiff. Dog-dog: 1. Dog approaches the helper dog slowly with tail a bit low
