A volunteer writes: A pretty little face is smudged against its kennel door. Let’s see….A tiny girl who reminds me of a baby goat..She is so cute…A terrier, for sure.. What a strange mix but does it really matter? Olympia is a small gal, a bit thin and who seems to have had puppies quite a number of times. Her under belly seems to belong to a puppy mill mom…Her coat is slightly wiry and missing some fur on her upper back. She is a bit shy , trembles at first and holds one of her legs up…What an adorable princess…Olympia does her business as soon as we enter the yard. She is hungry but sits on command for treats and takes food very gently from my hand. She knows where my goodies bag is and will search it timidly….She does not mind me pushing her away gently. I pick her up, put her on my lap like I would do with a “little dog”. She seems surprised in a nice way and rests her head against my chest for caresses. Olympia is a regal for the eyes, a delicious little girl who has been overbred and used…Time out ! Time in for a new page in Olympia’s life… She will be a pet from now on, with you as her guardian, protector and beloved master… Olympia is at the Manhattan Care Center, hoping to leave us soon, as your forever best friend.
