08/07/17 15:26 Limited profile, stray. Finder stated that the dog allowed for easy handling when she found her and that there was no aggressive behaviors displayed. The dog kept her tail between her legs but did not have a stiff body with counselors. She allowed for collaring and pictuers, but displayed whale eyes when movement was around her.

She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds. Sensitivity:1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag:1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1& 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Toy: 1. No interest. Summary: Nova was friendly and affectionate towards the assessor. PLAYGROUP: When off leash at the Care Center, Nova enters the pen with a neutral posture. She investigates the area, mostly keeping to herself. She becomes tense around the novel male and female dog. Nova was brought in as a stray so her past behavior with other dogs is unknown. The Behavior Department believes that Nova would be most comfortable as the only dog in the home, however if she is to be placed in a home with another resident dog, the other dog should be well socialized and match her calm demeanor. INTAKE BEHAVIOR 8/7/17: Upon intake Nova was calm and allowed all handling. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 8/8/17: During her medical examination, Nova was friendly with her tail wagging, she allowed all handling. ENERGY LEVEL: We have no history on Nova so we cannot be certain of her behavior in a home environment. However, she is a young, enthusiastic, social dog who will need daily mental and physical activity to keep her engaged and exercised. We recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and hide-and-seek games, in additional to physical exercise, to positively direct her energy and enthusiasm. RECOMMENDATIONS: Average (suitable for an adopter with an average amount of dog experience)

When off leash at the Care Center, Nova enters the pen with a neutral posture. She investigates the area, mostly keeping to herself. She becomes tense around the novel male and female dog. Nova was brought in as a stray so her past behavior with other dogs is unknown. The Behavior Department believes that Nova would be most comfortable as the only dog in the home, however if she is to be placed in a home with another resident dog, the other dog should be well socialized and match her calm demeanor. 8/8: Nova enters the pen with a neutral posture. She investigates the area, mostly keeping to herself. Her body tenses up, and her movements are slow, when a slightly energize novel male dog greets her. She holds this posture the remainder of the session. 8/9: Nova displays a tense posture when greeting a novel female at the gate. Due to the inexperience of the greeter, the gate was not opened.
